Of this, a total 6,428 or 2.78% of the coffees registered and stored in consumer country certified warehouses of the exchange, are Brazil washed arabica, and a further 27.14% of these certified coffees, from Honduras at 62,798 bags and 22.36% from Peru at a total 51,721 bags. The pending grading remained unchanged on the day, registering 4,530 bags pending grading with 85% from Brazil.

The November 2026 to December 2026 contract arbitrage between the London and New York markets widened yesterday, to register this at 152.61 Usc/Lb. This equates to 48.01% price discount for London robusta coffee.

It was a firmer day on the commodity markets yesterday, influenced by a continuation of a weaker US Dollar, traditionally a bullish factor for commodities traded in other currencies. The Coffee, Cocoa, Corn, Soybean, Sugar, Wheat, Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium markets ended the day on a firmer note. The day starts with the US Dollar trading at 1.352 Sterling, at 1.158 to the Euro and with the US Dollar buying 5.207 Brazil Real.

The New York and London markets started the day yesterday in muted volume, trading on modest firmer notes respectively. The trend was quickly affirmed in London to see the market gain momentum and trend firmer during the early morning session.  The New York market was slower to react and having set a higher level, continued to trade in firmer territory. The arrival of the America’s at the start of their business day pushed New York sideways before tracking lower from the early highs, the New York market dropped lower to set a new low for the day to rebound and find renewed support trend. The London market gained momentum from the day’s lows, gaining support as the afternoon progressed. The New York market continued the upward momentum before being capped during the afternoon session to limit the day’s gains. The market dropped back to settle on a firmer note, with some of the earlier gains of the day intact. The London market was seen to also settle on a firm note at the close, albeit back from the day’s highs.

The London market ended the day on a positive note, with 47.17% of the earlier gains of the day intact, while the New York market ended the day on a likewise positive note with 33.96% of earlier gains of the day intact. This firmer close might see the markets set for a steady start to early trade today, albeit that the New York and London markets dropped back from the highs of the day during the session to settle on firmer note at the close, to possibly see the markets set for a steady start to early trade today, against the prices set yesterday, as follows:
